The nobility of the Duchy of Englestaat have suffered during the last half-century; some say there is a curse upon them, as multiple lines have had their estates collapse, physically or financially, had mysterious deaths, or simply petered out without heirs. None of the Duke, his predecessor, nor their magical advisers have found any tangible evidence that would put credence in such a curse, but rumors persist. The Company of the Unicorn Rampant was founded by the scion of one minor noble line and they have traveled throughout the duchy and neighboring lands advancing the cause of right and good.
