Long Description:
Stardate 6831.2: The USS Ranger has been sent to the Sophia Expanse, a stretch of dangerous space roughly 47 lightyears beyond the Tholian Assembly. It is an area of great interest to federation scientists. A binary pair of Intermediate black holes have been fueling abnormally high levels of star formation. The science vessel, USS Kenyon has been surveying the region for six months now and is under strict orders to check in every week due to their proximity to the Tholians. So far, beyond a single casualty from an unfortunate accident, the mission has proceeded as expected and relatively smoothly– that is until three weeks ago. Sometime after their last check in, the USS Kenyon suddenly went radio silent. With no hints as to any perceived danger, it is up to us to ascertain why the USS Kenyon has stopped responding.
