You and your fellow explorers awaken inside a mysterious room, surrounded by technology you’ve never seen before. Where are you? How did you get here? Prepare yourself as you explore this mysterious pyramid and reclaim what you’ve lost.
In Numenera, player characters live on Earth a billion years from the present, built on the remnants of eight prior civilizations, each of which rose to the heights of technological mastery, then collapsed after millennia of ascendence. Many of those civilizations had nothing to do with humans. But now, in the “Ninth World,” humans are back, discovering the wonders of the worlds that came before—not for their own sake, but as a means to improve the present and build a future.
