Travelers tell stories of moonlit nights along a popular trade route that passes in the shadow of a burnt out hilltop castle - the sounds of a war horn and ghostly sightings of a headless knight have struck the local citizens with fear. Rumors tell of caravans disappearing near the ruins, causing most merchants now avoid the road and the towns nearby. A local village has hired you, a group of adventurers, to investigate the ruins and make the trade route safe again."
