Long Description:
21st Century warfare and the political lessons which are emerging from it are evolving our understanding of modern conflict and the costs of using force. From the long wars of the United States to wars between states and with non-state actors, the political evolution of warfare is changing. This lecture will highlight important developments in the political outcomes of conflict. Topics such as geopolitical outcomes, economic warfare, cyber war, grey zone conflict, misinformation, alliances and domestic support for war all matter and must be understood to see the full impact of what has occurred on the modern battlefield. Presented by Dr. Craig Greathouse, Professor of Political Science specializing in the EU, International Relations Theory and Security and Defense Policy, of the National Security Decision Making Game staff.
