Long Description:
Tourgoers will look at statues, buildings, and murals while hearing stories about the individuals they represent. Featured figures include entrepreneur Madam C.J. Walker, actor James Dean, First Lady Caroline Scott Harrison, and more. Guides will share Indianapolis history and how it intersected with broader national trends. Groups will vote their way through a 16-person bracket to crown one character “Indy’s Most Eligible” by tour’s conclusion. Lively conversation and debate are encouraged! Tourgoers will leave with a deeper understanding of Indianapolis’s intriguing history and, perhaps, a sense of victory. This tour takes place outside and covers approximately 1 mile. Tours run rain or shine, so wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Participants should expect to walk or stand for the entire length of the experience.
