Timing:
Wed 1:00 PM - Wed 2:30 PM
Location:
JW / White River Ballroom C
Long Description:
So often, the process of ensuring equity for people with disabilities or a neurodiverse audience is done as a checklist at the very end. Universal Design is a process where this is turned around, with consideration to a variety of physical, cognitive and emotional limitations from the beginning. This goes way beyond ensuring that one of your tables has a place you can pull up to in a wheelchair. Learn simple things that you can use immediately to remove physical barriers, making your game room, function space or event more inclusive and inviting. We’ll review best practices, discuss code v/s “whats right,” and do some role-play and small group activities. This will just scratch the surface, but you will come away with a list of resources to help you when you get back to your home site.
