Long Description:
Join the members of Gotokukan, an Indianapolis Kendo Dojo, to learn some of the basics of Kendo. This will be interactive and include actual drills. You will learn with the shinai (split bamboo sword) in hands-on instruction lead by the kenshi, including proper footwork, how to hold the shinai, and how to strike a target. This includes being able to strike an actual target! Finally, there will be a demonstration of shiai (fully armored sparring). All equipment will be provided. Money raised will benefit Gotokukan Dojo, a non-profit kendo dojo in Indianapolis.
